Junior Programmer (Data Specialist)
Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, Sinai Health
Network Biology Collaborative Centre
The Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute (LTRI), part of Sinai Health, is one of Canada’s leading biomedical research institutes. It focuses on understanding the underlying mechanisms of diseases to develop new diagnostics and therapeutic strategies. An area of expertise is mass spectrometry-based proteomics embedded within the Network Biology Collaborative Centre (NBCC, https://nbcc.lunenfeld.ca/). The NBCC Proteomics Core is led by Dr. Anne-Claude Gingras, Vice President of Research at Sinai Health and Director of the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute. We are seeking a skilled programmer with a background in information management system design and database management to join our dynamic team. This talented individual will develop and implement software solutions to input, track, and store vast amounts of data. They will work alongside experienced programmers to improve our laboratory information management system, called ProHits. They will also collaborate closely with our research team to design, develop, and optimize web platforms for analysis and visualization of proteomics data. Prohits-viz and Human Cell Map are two resources that our team has built to aid in proteomics data analysis and visualization.
The application deadline is July 12th, 2024 or until a suitable candidate is found.
Postdoctoral Fellow
University of British Columbia
Laboratory: Dr. Mari DeMarco (clinical mass spectrometry)
A postdoctoral research fellowship in Biomarker Diagnostics for Neurodegenerative Disorders is available in the laboratory of Dr. Mari DeMarco in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of British Columbia (www.DeMarcoLab.ca). The fellow will lead the technological design, analytical validation and clinical evaluation of biofluid diagnostics to support early and accurate diagnosis neurodegenerative proteinopathies. The primary focus of the lab is in advancing protein biomarkers/assays for neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, frontotemporal degeneration, Parkinson’s disease dementia. The fellow will be based at St Paul’s Hospital, a teaching hospital of UBC located in downtown Vancouver, Canada. The candidate will work in a collaborative clinical research environment, and will interact regularly with physicians, laboratory medicine professionals, and other collaborators.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
Postdoctoral Fellow
University of Toronto
Laboratory: Dr. Aaron Wheeler (Microfluidics)
Are you an expert in mass spectrometry and proteomics? Are you interested to explore the integration of mass spectrometry and proteomics with cutting-edge microfluidic analysis systems? Our team is developing new technologies in this area, and we are searching for a new postdoc to join us in this project. If you accept this position, you will join our multidisciplinary team (including partners and sponsors in government, academia, and industry) to push the boundaries of what is possible for single-cell proteome profiling. Upon joining, you will be involved in designing and implementing experiments, collecting results, training students and other lab members, as well as writing manuscripts and grant applications.
Review of applications will commence on April 25, 2024 and will continue until the position is filled.
Post-Doctoral Fellow
University of Alberta
Laboratory: Dr. Andrei Drabovich
We are looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow with strong background in proteomics, mass spectrometry, bioanalytical chemistry or molecular biology, and interests in cancer proteomics. The successful candidate will join our research program in clinical proteomics at the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. The project will include development of novel mass spectrometry assays to advance prostate cancer biomarker discovery, serological diagnostics, and antibody sequencing.
The position is available immediately and will remain open until filled.
