Rising Star Travel Awards

The Canadian National Proteomics Network (CNPN) is partnering with HUPO to offer travel awards to attend CNPN 2025 and HUPO 2025, taking place in Toronto, ON, from November 8–13, 2025. Each award provides $700 CAD to support travel expenses, jointly funded by CNPN ($500) and HUPO ($200).

Who can apply?

Candidates who meet the follow criteria may apply:

  • CNPN member
  • Graduate student, post-doctoral researcher or early career researcher*
  • Submitted an abstract for HUPO 2025 and/or CNPN 2025 (poster or talk)

*Early career researchers are defined as researchers within 6 years of the date of their first independent research-related appointment, taking in account eligible leaves (e.g. parental leave).

What’s the selection criteria?

To apply for the award, please submit the following information as one (1) pdf document:

  1. Half page statement on value of attending HUPO 2025 and CNPN 2025
  2. Submitted abstract
  3. Confirmation of registration to HUPO 2025 and CNPN 2025
